help: trouble with compiling emacs23 in ubuntu 7.10

Hi, I'm compiling emacs23 in ubuntu 7.10.

The code is checked-out from CVS repository and I got the following error
message when compiling:

in emacs/src directory I found bootstrap_emacs and emacs-23.0.60 are
generated successfully, but they ran very slowly.

I'm new with emacs, can anyone give me some help?

It might be better to use the Help menu of your slow GNU Emacs 23 and  
choose "Send Bug Report…" to report the error to the GNU Emacs  
developers list ...

Hmm. Can't help with that specific error.

I did this on my 7.10 machine:
  $ cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/emacs co emacs
  $ cd emacs
  $ ./configure --without-makeinfo --with-gif=no --with-dbus=yes --with-x-toolkit=gtk --with-rsvg=yes

and it works.

Have you thought about using Alexndre Vassalotti's Emacs23? I tested
it on one machine and it also works fine. http://peadrop.com/blog/category/computers/emacs
