How do you reset line length in RMAIL for receiving and reading messages?...
so lines aren't automatically wrapped resulting in a garbling look
to the text received.

How do you receive messages in RMAIL with lines intact as sent !?...

Emacs does that by default, it's some customization of yours that
causes this.

As Eli said Emacs does that by default.

Generally, text email is wrapped using newlines before it's sent. Not
all email programs do that. Some of them don't do it well. You can tell
if it's your config by loading the mbox file in emacs -Q. You can
tell if RMAIL is the problem by comparing it with another program. For
example, copy an email that suffers from the problem to an mbox file by
itself then import the file into Thunderbird.

Do you mean that the wrapping is odd in message-mode when replying?
That could be because you have visual-line-mode enabled and message-mode
has it's own line-wrapping too.

Robert Thorpe
