This has happened to me lately when I have been
advancing my IRC positions.

- some discussion in a channel
- not a lot of communication
- after that, not exactly a lot of traffic
- no one says anything
- the channel is absolutely quiet

Then I say:
- Eh, hello guys, what's going on? :S

Only _then_ I learn that I have actually lost
the server connection!? No wonder no one is
"saying" anything!

So now I do /names or /n once in a while or
before I type. Lame to the point of an
embarrassment to my family name, I know...

Is this an issue with ERC? Have any of you
experienced it? I haven't done a lot to ERC [1]
but enough for me not to rule out this is
something I brought onto myself. But it doesn't
sound like me - too advanced. Anyhow like with
Gnus, only perhaps much less so, it is
difficult to test ERC with -Q.

- I know right?

PS. I crosspost this to gmane.emacs.erc.general
which doesn't seem to have any
traffic, either. Perhaps I lost the server
    connection there as well. DS.

PPS. Followup-To: gmane.emacs.help otherwise
might as well direct it to /dev/null since
I've seen absolutely no activity on for
a long time, except for my own
     crossposts. DS.

PPPS. I know right? DS.
