Hello...

I am new to emacs. When I use emacs through an ssh client (or through a
telnet client) a menu appears at the top of the terminal screen with the
commands File Edit Options Buffers Tools Minibuf Help.

How are these commands accessed? They look like they are supposed to be
part of a drop down system, but I have never seen that in a terminal window!

Thanks in advance,

Stephen

Perhaps this is what you're looking for?

,----[ C-h k <f10> ]
| <f10> runs the command tmm-menubar
| which is an interactive autoloaded Lisp function in `tmm'.
| [Arg list not available until function definition is loaded.]
|
| Text-mode emulation of looking and choosing from a menubar.
| See the documentation for `tmm-prompt'.
| X-POSITION, if non-nil, specifies a horizontal position within the menu bar;
| we make that menu bar item (the one at that position) the default choice.
