How do I undo the effect of edebug-defun on a function, short of
restarting emacs? I must have missed it in the documentation.

Addendum:  compile-defun is found in bytecomp.el but is not mentioned
in edebug.el.  Perhaps it is a good idea to be mentioned in the help
string of edebug-defun.

you can type C-M-x (eval-defun), or load the file again (which is
similar in spirit but not as fine-grained).
