* cvs-emacs: can't get via cvs :-( any *ordinary* web-sites have it?

This cvs -- at least running it from my shell-account
at panix -- *always* times-out.

Even using the exact cmd I saw here yesterday or so,
where someone said:

I downloaded the emacs sources with
     cvs -z3 -d:ext:anoncvs@savannah.gnu.org:/cvsroot/emacs co emacs

Is it possible for *someone* to stick one up on
a "normal" web-site, no fancy access needed, just
a simple download? (of, say, a .bz2?)

Plus, for security, posting some kind of checksum *HERE*,
among friends, to catch hacks to it.

Would be wonderful for those limited to shell-acct
access to the web.

Thanks!

David

Someone did:

   http://sourceforge.net/projects/nqmacs/

(it's a bit outdated, but not too much so).

Thanks!

Now, just how did you KNOW about it, that it existed?

(For I'd like to be able to know those things too!)

Oh: how often do they upgrade to the newest cvs?

Thanks again,

David

Someone posted that URL recently, I just bookmarked it.
