I have had this box installed in the current fashion since about September. I have been running the latest version of emacs on it since then with no problems. Last week I started getting Error segmentation fault (11) when trying to run emacs. This was no matter what user I was logged in as. I tried removing and then reinstalling emacs using the lastest RPM last Friday. It worked after I did this. This morning I started to get the segmenation fault again. I tried removing emacs again, then when I try to reinstall emacs i get: rpm -ivh emacs-21.2-2.i386.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:emacs warning: /etc/X11/applnk/Applications/emacs.desktop created as /etc/X11/applnk/Applications/emacs.desktop.rpmnew warning: /etc/skel/.emacs created as /etc/skel/.emacs.rpmnew error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/share/emacs/21.2/lisp/emacs-lisp/bytecomp.elc;3e487d09: cpio: MD5 sum mismatch Anyone know my best course of action for this? I am scared to manually remove the files the rpm started to create.
