Is there a way to have an entire emacs install sitting on a flash
drive and be able to run it on Linux, Windows and Mac?
I have seen web-sites that show the procedure for Windows but not
Linux or Mac.
Thanks,
Deech

What does not work with ./configure --prefix=/path/to/flash/ ?
I suspect no one ever wrote something about this procedure because there
is nothing to write about.

Interesting have in bin dir with platform depend excutable and have
lisp, site-lisp dir same for they.
None of previous answer explain that.
emacs-22.2-barebin-i386 has about 16 MiB. So for all in use desktop you
must have 3*16 MiB (MAC, Windows, Linux). And 110 MiB for share elisp.

I've had good luck with this using the self-contained Emacs.app (Carbon)
for Mac OS and W32 Emacs along with a Cygwin install.
