Hi there,

I've just tried installing Emacs on a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10
and have run into a problem trying to compile Emacs 23.2. I initially
had a load of libraries missing so running 'configure' would fail.
Having installed all the libs that were highlighted as missing I am
now falling at the next hurdle.

When running 'make' I'm getting an unrecognized option warning for
gcc. I'm assuming that an environment variable isn't set up correctly
but need some help identifying what is wrong. The error and one of
the gcc command lines are pasted below.

Thanks.

sjalloq@sjalloq-VirtualBox:/usr/local/src/emacs-23.2$ make
cd lib-src; make all \

The warning is harmless, you can ignore it while waiting for Emacs 23.3
(which fixes it) to be released. See http://debbugs.gnu.org/5857 for
details.

Doesn't this look a bit suspicious?

(In GNU Emacs' *compilation* buffer isearch works well.)

Thanks a lot Sven. I saw the warnings and immediately killed the
compile thinking something was wrong. I'll rerun, thanks.
