Hi,
Am using GNU emacs on solaris 5.8 box. When i connect to it using a
terminal applications and use emacs(tried 21.1 20.7 and other prvious
versions too) with TERM=xterm no colors are displayed even
global-font-locked-mode. When i check list-color-display it shows no
colors. But when i use vim it displays the colors. Hence i think the
problem is with emacs. When i changed TERM=xterm-color emacs would not
start complaining about TERM type. What should be done to enable colors
in emacs. Please help.
Thanks,
Vijay

Please look in the file etc/PROBLEMS, it explain what could go wrong
(search for an entry named "Colors are not available on a tty or in
xterm").
