Do you mean the "Wrote file" message?
According to the description of write-region:
(write-region START END FILENAME &optional APPEND VISIT LOCKNAME
MUSTBENEW)
(...)
If VISIT is neither t nor nil nor a string,
that means do not display the "Wrote file" message.
