Does anyone know a link to approximate matching cap's based on sound 
assessment (the way the word is spoken?).

Then use a shell-command with agrep: "search a file for a string or
regular expression, with approximate matching capabilities," ftp://
ftp.cs.arizona.edu/agrep/, http://webglimpse.net/.
