* Function to echo a text in minibuffer

Hi all,

I am looking for a function that will echo a message in the minibuffer
but that message should not be written to *message* buffer. Something
similar to what eldoc does.

I tried minibuffer-message, but it will keep the mouse busy which is
annoying.

Any ideas?
