Where do I type this at?
> (global-font-lock-mode 1)
I set this in the .emacs file, and selected the menu option
"Byte-Compile and Load" but it had no effect. Does Emacs require a data
file that tells it how to colorize xml files?
This is GNU Emacs 20.7.1
