Message-ID: <2a1a21e7-f9d8-4c5f-bd8f-c8b08cc756e2@l5g2000pra.googlegroups.com> (raw)

in emacs 23's dired, there's

 dired-isearch-filenames	(Alt+s f Ctrl+s)

and

 dired-isearch-filenames-regexp (Alt+s f Ctrl+Alt+s)

what's the use for these?

user can simply do isearch (Ctrl+s) as usual, no?
