When doing a 'show args' when using gdb in emacs (M-x gdb) the args are
prefixed by that string:

"Argument list to give program being debugged when it is started is
[...]"

Is it possible to not have this rather useless presentation string and
go immediately the args ? If not, the frame has to be expanded in
order to view what are the actual args, which is not as nice as seeing
them directly after doing 'show args'.

Cheers.

That rather useless presentation string comes form gdb itself. Try it on
a shell.

AFAIU emacs merely sends the commands you type to gdb and prints its
response.

Indeed. I suggest to file a feature-request bug report, to make the
output more reader-friendly. There's no reason why Emacs couldn't
reformat the output to make it nicer.
