Hello,

Might it be possible to use pdfdraw from mupdf-tools in doc-view? Would a whole new mode need to be created or is it possible to customize doc-view to use mupdf?

Rendering PDFs to PNG is more accurate and clear with mupdf. Mupdf-tools has options for generating PNG or text files. The text extracted with "pdfdraw -t" are well formatted and in UTF-8. Could it be that one reason mupdf doesn't replace ghostscript/poppler in doc-view is that it can't handle PS files?

My failed attempts at customizing the doc-view group to use mupdf have included:

"Doc View Ghostscript Program" set to "pdfdraw"
"Doc View Ghostscript Options" set to "-o %d.png"
"Doc View Pdftotext Program" set to "pdfdraw -t"

thanks,
Paul
