I am trying to use ange-ftp to view some files. On my external ftp servers via port 21 this seems to work fine (ie. through the firewall). I have 1 server which I should be able to access directly via port 1021 but I can only see the first few lines of a file. E.g. C-x C-f /user@server#1021:dir/file just seems to partially open the file. I am using 21.3 on windows and I have messed with my .emacs file so that it only had the following settng i.e. path to gnu ftp.
;;ftp
(setq ange-ftp-ftp-program-name "c:/utils/gnuftp/ftp.exe")

I have looked through this archive and cannot find a smilar problem. I can get the file using the above ftp program. If I choose emacs as the view/edit program with filezilla I can see the whole file - so I am scratching my head a bit. Any ideas?

ta Alan
