I am not the guy who installed emacs on that server, but I have root= =20 access if I need to fix anything. When I try to run xemacs (gnu emacs ope= ns=20 inside the terminal, which is not the behaviour I'm used to from another=20 remote server, where gnu emacs opens its own window on my display properl= y) I=20 get this error: Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset I'm using XEmacs 21.1 (patch 14) "Cuyahoga Valley" [Lucid] (i386-suse-lin= ux,=20 Mule) of Sat Jun 23 2001. Could anyone maybe quickly tell me where to loo= k?=20 In case the backtrace is relevant, I appended it to the end of this mail.= =20 Besides opening inside the terminal, the GNU emacs behaves very oddly in = many=20 other ways too. It doesn't accept any F key for instance and complains ab= out=20 not finding /usr/lib/X11/locale/locale.alias (that /locale/ dir doesn't e= xist=20 on that box at all.) In case I will have to use gnuemacs in a terminal, w= hat=20 would be a fix to that? Thanks, Daniel
