hi list!
I've switched to imap recently and I cannot figure out how to configure gnus to split my mails
correctly.
Here's the part of my ~/.gnus which I wrote:
========================
(setq gnus-secondary-select-methods
'((nnimap "localhost")
))
(setq nnimap-split-inbox "INBOX")
(setq nnimap-split-rule
'(("INBOX.belug"
"List-Id: Die Mailingliste der BeLUG (Berliner Linux User Group) <linux-l.mlists.in-berlin.de>")
("INBOX.gtk"
"List-Id: General discussion of GTK+ <gtk-list.gnome.org>")
("INBOX.emacs"
"List-Id: Users list for the GNU Emacs text editor <help-gnu-emacs.gnu.org>")
("INBOX.ccc"
"List-Id: CCC Diskussionsliste <debate.lists.ccc.de>")
("INBOX.private" "")
))
======================
What this is supposed to do is take all mail from my inbox and sort out all mail coming from
mailing-lists. Everything else then goes into INBOX.private.
When I start gnus, it seems to sort my mail but when I try to access it, I'm told the mailbox doesn't
exist. I've tried to subscribe to several "groups" for example nnimap:emacs, nnimap:INBOX:emacs,
INBOX:emacs, INBOX.emacs etc, etc but they all give me the same "the mailbox doesn't
exist"-error-message.
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Have you tried "belug" instead of "INBOX.belug"? That's what I use.

To subscribe to groups I use the server buffer. Press '^' in the
"*Group*" buffer and select the server "nnimap:your.server.here". In
the nnimap server buffer you subscribe with 'u' and quit with 'q'.
so long, benny
