In Xemacs 21, how can I lock the scrolling behavior (either horizontal or
vertical, but not both) of split screens? For example, I would like it so
that after splitting the screen horizontally into 2 screens, they both stay
at the same vertical position but that the can be independently scrolled in
the horizontal position.

Thank you for the response. In fact I have been using xemacs for years, but I recently wished to convert to regular emacs because xemacs cannot do some stuff that I need (for example, zoom-in and out of a document with the mouse scroll wheel). As you can see, these related features (being able to move around in a large document) are important for my work.
