Hi all,
I am running emacs 23.0.0.1. and am trying to get iswitchb running. The
following line appears in my .emacs:
(iswitchb-mode 1)
When I type C-x C-b, I get the default emacs buffer list when I should
get iswitchb. However when I t ype C-x b, iswitchb runs fine. Shouldn't
it work both ways?

I think it is working correctly in your 23.0 version. It also works like
this in 21.3 so, unless the manual has changed, it seems like a legacy
feature. In my .emacs I have under 'custom-set-variables:
'(iswitchb-mode t nil (iswitchb))
