Since several months there is a problem logging in savannah.gnu.org
with Emacs-w3m and W3 [1]. It seems that Sylvain Beucler figured out
the issue [2]. Could someone familiar and knowledgable please look at
that?

[1] Actually, the only text browsers able to login are links2 and
elinks. links2 doesn't have UTF-8 support and elinks has a poor one.
Also both do not compile under GNU/Hurd. So that leaves us, the users
of GNU/Hurd and X-less GNU/Linux systems, without alternative.

Since this is a w3m issue it would be best to bring it up on the w3m
mailing list, which is referenced by the w3m site.
