When in *scratch* I try (concat "\\" "%") I get "\\%" But what I really want is to get "\%". (I am trying to TeXify some text and convert %->\%, $->\$, etc). If I try (concat "\" "%") I get a syntax error because the \ is escaping the ". Many thanks, Mirko
