On the other hand sending mail to any gmail user compels that user to use non-free software and entrench them in non-free bondage. This may not not be an issue for GNU as an organization it should prick the conscience of any one who is actually in communication with gmail users, and promoting their stumbling. --- via emacs-tangents mailing list (https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/emacs-tangents) ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 4+ messages in thread

I am aware of it. That is why: - in our team we use our XMPP network; - in our team, we use our e-mail addresses and domains; running on fully free software; - we enlighten each staff member to understand what is free software; For friends and family, clients, I can always send them link how to get their own free email address. Sure! Here's the text with an emoji: Remember, you can always do something about it! 😊 Jean Louis --- via emacs-tangents mailing list (https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/emacs-tangents) ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 4+ messages in thread

We must always strive to uphold software freedom while being mindful of hidden but insidious pitfalls. Merry Christmas to one and all, and may the light of freedom shine on all who seek its embrace. --- via emacs-tangents mailing list (https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/emacs-tangents) ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 4+ messages in thread

The user you're sending to is *already* a gmail user. By all means you can take it upon yourself to make sure they understand the consequences of the choice they have already made, but the mere act of sending to that existing address does not make things better or worse (although the contents of the email might).
