I am afraid that almost the only way to find out whether this is a
good idea is to actually try it for a while.  If one finds out that
the idea sucks after all, it might be a bit frustrating, but it
certainly is worth the effort to try.  And if feelings are mixed, one
can at least keep it a user option, or try finding how to improve
those areas where one things the behavior dissatisfactory.
