Could someone explain to me why we moved gnus/imap.el to net/imap.el
rather than to the more obvious mail/imap.el?

rather than to the more obvious mail/imap.el?
I chose `net' because it seemed more appropriate than `mail'
for a program to communicate directly thru the network.
However, I do not want to argue the issue.

Its sole purpose is to access remote mailboxes, so it seems to count as
"mail" to me. What do others think?

Simon suggested "net" and nobody came up with other suggestions within

I would have chosen "mail" as well, but I don't have a strong opinion.
