If those crashes started to occur approx. 2 weeks ago, I have just installed a fix
which could cause random crashes when a tool-bar is shown.

Could you try to turn it off?

We have had misc reports that emacs crashes with hyper threading.

That was the string-allocation-in-a-signal-handler bug, which was
fixed several weeks ago. Emacs should *not* crash with hyperthreading
now.

I see.

So I suggest that Frederick first tries to run for a while with a
fully up-to-date CVS checkout (with my latest fix)
.. AND with hyper-threading ENABLED.

If it still crashes, then try to disable HT, and run for a while..
