Subject: font-locking slowdown?
Date: Tue, 17 May 2005 23:22:12 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3oeb98357.fsf@gigamonkeys.com> (raw)

I just refreshed my emacs CVS workspace (2005-05-17) and built a new
Emacs on Mac OS X (Tiger). Opening a 249 line makefile causes Emacs to
hang for several minutes while fontifying. The mini buffer says:

 Fontifying GNUmakefile... (regexps..............)

If I wait long enough it finishes but this seems bad. (FWIW, the
number of dots after "regexps" doesn't change while I wait.)
