[-- Attachment #1: Type: text/plain, Size: 672 bytes --]

The attached patch is a 1st stab at making it possible to use the
imagemagick library to load images in emacs.

I can load GIMP XCF and DJVU files like this:
src/emacs -q --eval "(insert-image (create-image \"/tmp/tst.xcf\" 'imagemagick) )"

It works with any image format supported by imagemagick, find out which
with:
identify -list format

This patch does not replace the current image loading code, it merely
adds imagemagick as a possible file loader.

(The 1st part of the patch are merely changes to "configure", ignore
those please. The patch was generated with "git diff imagemagick master
>imagemagick1.patch" and configure is a managed file for some reason.)

Thanks.

Could you please not post the hunks for `configure' at all?

The patch looks backwards, i.e. "diff NEW OLD" rather than the other
way around.

I removed the configure hunks manually this time.
Do you know of a way to do it automatically?

git diff master imagemagick >imagemagick2.patch
should be better then.

(1) remove configure from git control
(2) git diff -- file1 file2 ...

It's probably easiest to do something like

(3) git ls-files -m -x configure | xargs git diff --

if that works.

You can add all changes you want to put in the patch to the index and
use git diff --cached.

Andreas.

These additional files would need to be reflected in image-types and
image-type-available-p.

It isn't immediately obvious how to do this. ImageMagick supports a
plugin system for image formats, so one would need to query the api
dynamically. I'll have a look.
