I hear it often repeated that we are small and lack manpower, which I think only ends up discouraging newcomers. Maybe if we stop telling ourselves that we lack manpower, we'd realize that we do in fact have quite a bit of it (just not all on emacs-devel), and that a more optimistic outlook might encourage others to spend their time here.
