It is likely that the FSF checked the intent of the copyright holder. Someone downloading from a package repository may not check as thoroughly -- for one, they may be bored by this sort of thing. I agree, this is not new, but the danger persists. Refraining from doing something because of baseless FUD would be wrong. I agree. The trouble is that in the contemporary US, a fear of legal suits is not baseless, especially if you are well known. Fortunately, I am not. -- Robert J.
