GNU Emacs 21.3.50.140 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit) of 2003-07-16
info (GNU texinfo) 4.6

I happened to look at an Info file both in GNU Emacs Info and in the
standalone Info. The GNU Emacs Info correctly shows the @copying
text, but the standalone Info does not.

Does this mean that the standalone Info has not yet been updated to
handle @copying? (I never use the standalone Info so I am not aware
of such matters.)

I use "info (GNU texinfo) 4.6" too and always seem to get the @copying
text in the stand-alone Info. Do your INFOPATH environment variable
and your `Info-directory-list' Elisp variable contain the same
directories in exactly the same order? Your stand-alone Info reader
could be using an old .info file.

Sincerely,

Luc.

False alarm! The standalone Info reader works OK.

Yesterday I wrote:

Luc Teirlinck <teirllm@dms.auburn.edu> asked:

That was the problem. Since I never use it, I had forgot that the
standalone Info might be somewhat different from the GNU Emacs Info.
It was, and now that I go to the right .info files, all is well.

My apologies for all this.
