It sounds that Emacs provides an MTA only for sending email. Does Emacs always need to use the non-Emacs MTA on your local system to receive email, but provides you with the choice of using either the non-Emacs MTA on your local system to send email or of using the MTA that come with Emacs? -- Robert J.
