FYI, this is what I found in `config.h' for `USE_MMAP_FOR_BUFFERS': /* Define to use mmap to allocate buffer text. */ /* #undef USE_MMAP_FOR_BUFFERS */ There are no other occurrences of it so I guess it's not defined at all in my build.
