Subject: mouse-4/mouse-5 loses click modifiers
A recipe to reproduce this bug:
1. Run emacs -Q
2. M-: (get 'S-mouse-5 'event-symbol-elements) RET
(mouse-5 shift click)
3. Press the Shift key, and scroll the mouse wheel up/down.
4. M-: (get 'S-mouse-5 'event-symbol-elements) RET
(mouse-5 shift)
A list of modifiers now misses the `click' element that was here
initially. As a result, mouse-avoidance-ignore-p fails to ignore
mouse wheel's scrolling events because it checks event-modifiers
for the `click' modifier. The same bug applies to other modifiers
defined in `mouse-wheel-scroll-amount'.

Please, Richard, don't do "forward", but "reply" instead.
Pretty please?

What about a plan to redirect emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org to
emacs-devel@gnu.org? Or should I report bugs to emacs-devel@gnu.org?

The reason I send mail about the bug is to establish a reminder
in case nobody responds. If you send a message to emacs-devel,
I still have to send my own message to establish the reminder.

I think it is better to use reply so as to save people the trouble of
looking for the data in another message. But if people generally
agree that this doesn't help them, I don't mind using forward instead.

I think you meant it the other way around. In any case, which command you
use actually doesn't matter so much. I agree that it's good to keep a copy
of the original text, but that can be done with `reply' as well.
All I care about, really is that the "In-reply-to" (and/or the "References")
field in the header make it easy to recover the original.

Ok, I will do it that way.
