How does this compare to read-char-choice? Sorry I can't try
read-multiple-choice yet since I only have 25.0.90. Just want to make
sure we don't have similar functions doing similar things.

read-char-choice just prompts for characters without help or explanation.

Could we make the two "compatible" (so they can use the same name)?
Or should we mark read-char-choice obsolete?

We could mark it obsolete.  As another related command, could also
perhaps look at implementing y-or-n-p via read-multiple-choice,
perhaps...
