It's very likely that this problem depends on the version of Evil and
will be fixed at some point, right? Do we have a version of Evil known to
suffer form this? How 'bout a newer version known to fix this?
If there a bug# for this (either in our bug-tracker or in Evil's)?

Well, duh, the commit message said "(Bug#29143)", so clearly there's
an Emacs bug# for it.

Didn't seem likely to me, given that the Evil maintainer closed the
issue as "wontfix", after suggesting the workaround I added to
PROBLEMS.

I think all of them do.
