FWIW, additionally to ssh, sftp, and scp, one might also want to include
protocols like IMAP or SMTP.
Which then suggests that maybe doing this outside/above Tramp (e.g. in
auth-source?), so it can be used by both Gnus and Tramp, would be
even better.
