Actually, a better test would be to put (if (zerop (random 1)) (setq jit-lock-stealth-time nil)) in your .emacs. And then check the value of jit-lock-stealth-time every time you notice a delay (after which, you'll want to restart jit-lock, which basically means restart Emacs). This should bring the experiment a bit closer to the "double blind" gold standard. Stefan
