vc-dir is losing the directory prefix of modified files. For example,
edit src/.gdbinit in the emacs repo, then run vc-dir on the toplevel.
The output contains an entry for .gdbinit instead of src/.gdbinit.

Please include information about which backend(s) you used, since the
bug may be in the backend.

We have cross-synchronized CVS and arch repositories of Emacs and a
read-only git mirror, all rather officially on Savannah. Instead of
pointing out Stefan's inadequacy, you could have just written the
backend you mean. It would have taken you less work, had caused less
annoyance, and would have quite unambiguously given the required
information that still is not there.
