We agree. And the underlying design is perfectly able to cope with it. I haven't checked, but it's even possible that package.el already handles it correctly if/when the `archive-contents` file contains various different versions of the same package. IOW it might be a simple matter of adjusting the scripts that build the archive(s). Stefan
