Sorry for being too vague. Ah, right. Well, no I don't think I use other Emacs packages which make use of file notifications. BTW, while I obviously agree with you that the overall experience is rather bleak, I do enjoy the faster refresh of auto-revert when file notifications do work. I'm just disappointed that this is not the overwhelming majority of the cases (it's probably the majority of the cases, but if so, not by a wide enough margin that I wouldn't have to doubt it). Stefan
