Any multiline gdb command (commands, define, while, if, etc.) causes
gdb-ui to complain about a phase error, and sends `info frame' to gdb.

It must be due to something specific about your setup as I can't reproduce it.
Can you post your .gdbinit, Gdb version, other Gdb buffers/configuration etc?
