Absolutely. I also suggest that any conversion standardize the format of the entries. At present you find examples of both http://debbugs.gnu.org/16462 and http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=16462 Both point to the same place, but I think the former format is better.
