Yes, I didn't notice that so far.  This is really annoying when using
inverse video for matching parentheses (I do):

 '(show-paren-match ((((class color) (background light)) (:foreground
"#4488FF" :inverse-video t))))
 '(show-paren-mismatch ((((class color)) (:foreground "red"
:inverse-video t))))
