As I told you in my previous mail, commit b9b32074cecb0e0d20cf527eadacbb0b7f5cced9 (Apr 7 2020) restores static inlines in the master branch. In short: before commit 365dad197bac5deec9244fd9c189d23c46c99b31 (Sep 4 2019) 'extern inline' was the default; this includes Emacs 26 releases after commit 365dad197bac5deec9244fd9c189d23c46c99b31 'static' became the default; this affects Emacs 27.1 and 27.2 after commit b9b32074cecb0e0d20cf527eadacbb0b7f5cced9 'static inline' became the default; this will be the default for Emacs 28
