Recently, PayPal members have reported suspicious-looking emails = and fake websites. These fraudulent emails may address you with the salu= tation "Dear PayPal User" or "Dear PayPal Member." T= hese emails are not from PayPal. PayPal will only address you by y= our first and last name, or the business name associated with the account.

Use the following tips to protect your PayPal accoun= t:

  1. First name, last name, business name
  2. Email and password combination
  3. Credit card, bank account, and PIN number
  4. Social security and driver's license number
  5. Do not download attachments, sof= tware updates, or any application to your computer via a link you receiv= ed in an email. PayPal will not ask you to download anything for your ac= count to work.
  6. Choose a unique password and cha= nge it every 30-60 days.
