No, of course not. Just expressing an opinion.

Tried that. (At one point Stefan even said
that Bookmark+ should replace bookmark.el.)
The source code is there, if someone wants to
update vanilla Emacs (your "Emacs itself") to
use some or all of Bookmark+. But don't hold
your breath.
