That was a mistake.  My apologies.  I did not realize it was there.  A
week or two ago, I made some changes to emacs-lisp-intro.texi (I think
to fix typos) and rebuilt emacs-lisp-intro.info; at the same time I
must also have built emacs-lisp-intro.txt.  (I just copy, paste, and
run some shell commands, so that would have been easy to do
unintentionally.)

I just ran the pcl-cvs command to remove the file and it should now be
gone.

I've just tried "cvs update", and the file is still in the repository.

I don't know enough about pcl-cvs, but "cvs remove -f" followed by
"cvs ci" should do the trick.

Hmmm... I just updated my CVS, Sun, 2002 Sep  1  12:46 UTC
and it is gone from emacs/lispintro/.  

Is it still in your update?  If so, I don't know what is going on.

I'd guess Robert `cvs remove'd the file (i.e. `r' in PCL-CVS) but didn't
commit the change ?

You are probably right.  (I cannot remember; I was too sleepy.)

Anyhow, I removed emacs-lisp-intro.txt using the following commands
(it had a sticky date, hence the `cvs update -A'):

    cvs add emacs-lisp-intro.txt
    pushd ..
    cvs update -A
    popd
    cvs status emacs-lisp-intro.txt
    cvs remove -f emacs-lisp-intro.txt
    cvs ci -m "Remove emacs-lisp-intro.txt erroneously installed" \
       emacs-lisp-intro.txt
    cvs status emacs-lisp-intro.txt

and according to the status report, the file has been removed.
